The PIER Program helps
kids who are having early symptoms of
serious mental illness (psychosis) feel better, get
better and stay better. Period.
PIER is an innovative
treatment research program that provides assessment and
services for young people between 12 and 25 in
the Greater Portland area who are showing the early
signs of serious mental illness. The strength
of the program lies in its work with young people
and
their families, as well as its work with community members on the identification of young people at risk.
Through its work, PIER
is determining if the early identification of symptoms
can delay or offset the progression of mental
illness. By working in both the research and treatment fields, PIER has become a nationally recognized resource for cutting-edge knowledge about early intervention.
The signs and symptoms are easy to spot if you know what to look for. Getting help is even easier. It's confidential and it's free.
