Vascular/Interventional
Radiology
Using sophisticated radiologic images to guide their
procedures, vascular/interventional radiologists insert
thin catheters and other tiny instruments through the
blood vessels and other pathways in the body to treat
a variety of conditions without surgery.

Vascular/interventional radiologists provide diagnostic
and therapeutic non-surgical management of conditions.
These treatments include percutaneous angioplasty,
cyst aspirations, and innovative procedures such as
vertebroplasty for vertebral collapse, and uterine
fibroid embolization for an alternative fibroid
treatment. In addition, MMC is one of the few hospitals
in northern New England to offer neuro-endovascular
therapy.
Available radiation oncology services are available
at our Main
Campus on the Western Promenade in Portland.
