Radiology

What Is Radiology?

Radiology is the branch of medicine that allows us to view the inside of the human body. You are probably familiar with x-rays, one of the most common radiology procedures. X-rays produce a still picture of bones and organs.

Other radiology procedures create moving pictures of your organs at work, while others produce 3-dimensional images of organs and tissue deep within your body. These images help in the early diagnosis and treatment of many conditions. Radiology is also useful in the fight against cancer. Radiation oncology uses precisely targeted radiation beams to destroy cancerous cells.
